Our Work

Over the years, North Kitsap Soroptimist has helped launch several programs that benefit local women and girls. We are narrowing our focus to primarily support two unique “Dream” programs, as well as our scholarships for high-school girls. Nationwide, all our clubs are embracing the same focus—and we look forward to the impact this will have on our communities.

Trees for Morrow Manor

President Ada and member Lydia along with friends Jill and Sue were on hand when 9 trees were delivered for the Morrow Manor Housing in Poulsbo on August 14th 2020. Thanks to the generous donation from  The Brothers Greenhouses that made our Soroptimist dollars go further and were able to provide these lovely American Sweet Gum trees for the housing that will help provide housing for single parent households that are struggling.

Helping at Community Meal

This past year members of North Kitsap Soroptimist worked with Gateway to serve the February Community Meal. This was just prior to the closure in Washington of all large assembly of people. This outreach to the community was open to all and provided on the weekend a hot meal to those wh0 walked through their door

"Days for Girls" Sewing project

This year members of North Kitsap Soroptimist worked with ‘Days for Girls’ with a hands on project. Every three months members of the community spend the day making feminine hygiene packets for women that are distributed to women around the world who do not have access to a monthly supply of commercially manufactured feminine hygiene products, (i.e. sanitary napkin). Soroptimist  members enjoyed lending a hand in helping in this team effort.

Soroptimist Giving Tree

For the past several years North Kitsap Soroptimist has partnered with Bon Cheveux Salon and Spa to provide an opportunity for the community to provide a wonderful holiday for young women who might not otherwise have gifts under their tree.
